The origin and history of San Jose del Valle, La Janda, dates back to the Muslim era, specifically the existence of "Hins Tanbul" fortress, thought to have been built on top of a settlement of Roman origin. San Jose del Valle was conquered by Christians in the fourteenth century. The remains show traces of the passing of Tartesians, Romans and Arabs.

Casa la Loba Bed and Breakfast is located iin the historic centre of Medina Sidonia. The history of Medina Sidonia goes back some three thousand years, and the pueblo has been ruled by the Phoenicians, Romans, Visigoths and Muslims, before it was returned to Spanish hands in 1246.

The town is perfectly located for discovering the region. The Parque Natural de los Alcornocales and the Sierra de Cadiz are on our doorstep. The beaches of the Costa de la Luz are amongst the cleanest and most beautiful in Europe. Playa la Barossa at Chiclana is a mere thirty minutes by road and within an hour you can reach the beaches of Tarifa, Bolonia, Zahara, Cape Trafalgar, El Palmar and Conil.

Based in Alcaidesa, La Linea de la Concepcion, their house reef is on the local beach. They drive down to La Vista with their 4x4. There they can change and walk a few meters to the water. The maximum depth is 6 meters, ideal conditions for DSDs, beginner courses and divers who haven't dived for some time, and want to start slowly. Around the rocks often they find squid, swarms of fishes, groupers and crabs.  Trips are also made to other nearby dive spots.

The Hotel Citymar Mediterráneo is located on the sea front in La Linea de la Concepcion, with views across to the Rock of Gibraltar.

It is five hundred metres for the centre of La Linea de la Concepcion, where you can find all leisure, entertainment, shops, and businesses. If you want to use the public transport, then the nearest bus stop is just 50 metres from the hotel. The airport is nearby.

Hostal el Anon, has twelve charming bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms, Andalucian courtyards, vine shaded terraces, roof top swimming pool and sun terrace. It is the perfect centre for a host of holiday activities.

The restaurant idea came from Garth’s brother Steve - he said it would make a great situation, with the patio for summer and cosy inner dining room with a fireplace. So we bought a patch of land at the top of the complex (where the swimming pool is now) for us to live and started renovating the place as a restaurant. It took us a couple of years to make it work, however.
