PAD is a privately run charity in the Mijas/Fuengirola area that specialises in the rehabilitation and rehoming of abandoned dogs and cats. Since our shelter opened in December 1998 we have found new homes for more than 3,000 dogs and cats. All our animals are cared for by qualified veterinarians and are fully vaccinated and micro-chipped. We help would be adopters to make a suitable choice when taking a dog or cat and advise on the best way to care for them. As a result of this we have become involved in an educational programme in schools, on radio and television. We fight continually to prevent cruelty to animals and their abandonment, and we use every effort we can to persuade our law makers to pass legislation to protect animals from cruelty and exploitation.
